SUGGESTED CLASS ATTIRE
CLOTHING
Comfortable cool clothing in which you can easily move around in.

DANCE CLASS FOOTWEAR 
Most people bring their dance shoes in a dance bag, and change into them at the studio upon arrival. We suggest you bring trouser (thin) socks to protect your feet from getting scraped. Thick sport socks are not recommended.
Ladies Footwear
It is best to use a dressy shoe in this class. Choose a heel-height that is comfortable for you to start in. Platform shoes are Not recommended.

Mens Footwear
Guys should wear any comfortable Dressy shoes, dance shoes, dance sneakers or Jazz shoes. to move and pivot easily in during class. Regular sneakers or work boots are NOT suited for this dance. They have too much traction and does not allow smooth pivoting for turns.

Class Level Descriptions

Intro Level Classes

Learn the foundation of New York Salsa "On2" style of dancing. Starting from the basic open floor steps and simple partner work turns. This class introduces you to dancing with a partner. Guys learn easy partner turns with the technique to lead your partner on the dance floor. Ladies will follow along with the basic turns and hand positions that are taught. You’ll learn how to respond to the leading signals you get from your leading partner for in and out transitions.

Beginner-Level 1 Class

Students continue to learn New York Salsa "On2" style, and strengthen their foundation of the dance technique. With added open floor steps and partner work turn patterns. We will train your ear to the musical timing. As well as teach you strong, basic leading skills for men. And great “following" techniques for the ladies.

Beginner-Level 3 Class (Next Phase)

Once the student has learned the basic foundation of the New York Salsa "On2" timing, footwork and partnering technique from an Addie-tude instructor, that instructor will promote the student when they are ready to move on. 


This class will re-cap the basics in Level 1 classes and expand to the next group of open steps and partner turn variations with emphasis on turn-pattern combinations. 


These classes will all train your ear to hear the musical timing with an emphasis on dance technique. The student will gain confidence on the social dance floor and meet wonderful fellow Salsa Lovers from the dance community. All in a fun, comfortable and non-intimidating environment!

Choreography/Performance Class

Dancers take this class for the training and the amazing experience that it is. You will have an exciting time with a fun and enthusiastic group of people. This class will help you gain confidence on the Social dance floor and take your dancing to the next level!

You will learn: A choreographed number top to bottom. On Dance technique, stage presence, group formations, choreography sequences. As the students are ready, they will have the opportunity to perform @ large events (ie Congresses), Festivals, Addie-tude’s Student Showcase, local summer events, social dances, etc., as opportunities arise.
