Stella (Guerra) Filocco is a versatile artist whose journey reflects the rich diversity of her cultural roots and creative passions. Born in Newark, NJ to a Cuban father and Colombian mother, her childhood was shaped by constant travel along the East Coast, exposed to a vibrant mix of music, culture, and the arts. This nomadic lifestyle fueled her early love for performing, and by age 9, she was already making her mark on *Sabado Gigante*. As she grew, her passion for dance led her to study various styles like ballet, jazz, hip-hop, and modern dance, eventually drawing her to New York City to pursue a career in the arts.
In NYC, Stella immersed herself in both the music and entertainment industries, balancing her academic pursuits—earning a degree in Broadcast Media, Film, and Radio—with hands-on experience at iHeartRadio and as a Production Assistant for the film *See You Yesterday*. Her evolving love for music led her to explore indie music production, where she showcased her powerhouse voice and artistic visuals, blending pop and soul in a unique way. Stella’s performances at iconic venues like Pianos and The Bowery Electric solidified her place in the NYC music scene, and collaborations with top industry talents, such as multi-platinum engineer IRKO, fueled her growth as an artist.
Today, Stella lives in upstate New York with her family, where she’s deeply involved in her community through initiatives like the Buchanan Running Club (BRC), a non-profit she founded to promote fitness and mental health. She’s also an active member of the Westchester Women’s Chorus, where she has earned solos and choreographed performances. In 2022, Stella's passion for performance reached new heights when she became the Studio Assistant and Co-Instructor for Addie Diaz, guiding students in their artistic journeys. As a member of two performance teams with Devin Flores and Vira Lee, she continues to train and perform at major events, including the Tri-State Dance Fest. Stella lives her dream every day—balancing family life, fitness, training, and teaching while making an impact on her community.
